I mentioned in this post that the audiobooks listed at AudioGals were my favourite listens where my reviews were posted there and I planned to do a post here to make up my top ten. My sense of fairness was pricked by leaving out the excellent romance audios I listened to from my own library or provided direct to me by publishers/authors. In no particular order, the other top five are:

Noble Satyr audio

Noble Satyr by Lucinda Brant, narrated by Alex Wyndham. My list could not have been complete without at least one Brant title. Alex Wyndham was my “find” of 2015 in terms of excellent new narrators. His work here is stellar and the story is excellent too. Georgian romances featuring rakish and mysteriously enigmatic heroes are my catnip.

Venetia audio1

Venetia by Georgette Heyer, narrated by Phyllida Nash. This is one from my own library but I reviewed it at Dear Author. It was my first full length Heyer book. I’ve been intimidated by her work and reluctant to read it therefor, even though I have about 10 on the TBR. After receiving assurances from reliable friends that Ms. Nash’s performance was excellent, I decided to take the risk on audio. I had an advantage because I’d already listened to the abridged version narrated by Richard Armitage (which I also loved) so I knew the outline of the story. I was very self-congratulatory afterward for what a good decision I made. Go me!

Obsession in Death

Obsession in Death  by JD Robb, narrated by Susan Ericksen I gave this one a B but it gets a nod on my favourites list because of the stellar work of Susan Ericksen and the fact that I still love this series, even after all these years and all these books.

Games of the Heart audio

Games of the Heart by Kristen Ashley, narrated by Rachel Fulginiti. This was one of the two from the Burg series that I had not read in print before listening to the audio. Someone, ages ago, told me that the book hadn’t worked that well for them and I think I went in a little nervous. But Games of the Heart was one of my favourites of this series (which just goes to prove that excellent people can have different tastes in books) and the narration was fabulous.

Seize the Fire audio

Seize the Fire by Laura Kinsale, narrated by Nicholas Boulton. What favourites list could be complete without a title by Kinsale and Boulton? Seize the Fire is one of my most beloved romance books and I have to say that it’s even better on audio. I felt I had a whole new understanding of Sheridan and that was all down to Nick Boulton’s most excellent narration.
